If you are like me you're shocked and hurt at the bad publicity some police departments are getting. This isn't to try and justify police criminal activity. No, not at all. But when there's a breakdown in trust and respect for our law enforcement personnel, we begin to become lawless.

For better or worst, we live in a world of images. These images inform us in many ways. Those images of the LAPD brutally beating Rodney King will forever tarnish any good that department does. Likewise, the NYCPD will forever be tainted by the incomprehensible cruelty Amado Diallo suffered at the hands of New York's finest, so-called.

What, then, can we as citizens and tax-payers do to correct this situation? Good question. I do not know. Any suggestions? Chime in.
